Senior GIS Analyst

A Senior Analyst is needed to lead others in producing maps, reports, analyses and programs to support users as part of the Geographic Information System (GIS) Department. The Senior Analyst will supervise GIS projects determining scope, schedules and resource requirements, communicate with clients to resolve problems and performs quality control. The person in this position will also develop complex applications and screen menus using Map Objects, ArcView, Arcinfo, Avenue, ARCINFO MACRO LANGUAGE (AML), Visual Basic and C/C++ and writes code and programs to support GIS users after consulting with the clients to determine GIS needs. The successful candidate’s most important qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Science, Planning, Geography, Computer Science or a closely related field
Two years of professional experience working with a comprehensive geographic information system

The analyst will work both independently, with the GIS team and with clients to identify applications, data requirements and sources, hardware and software requirements and then develop and implement data topology methods and procedures. As a Senior Analyst, the candidate will provide technical training and project presentations to staff and users. This position reports to the GIS Department Manager.
